Did Dutch talk much about working with Scott D’Amore when building the Knockouts division?
Dutch did NOT like the way Scott did things. You see Scott is a great networker. That’s how he was able to achieve what he did in his “climb” in the company. However, the thing he lacked was people smart! He didn’t stop and think about how his networking with Dixie and her people would affect him in dealing with others.

Scott has attributes! Don’t get me wrong but, he was never qualified to “book” TNA (hence where he ended up in the company and the lack of performance IMPACT had in ratings).
Jeff say’s he has a “pulse” on independent talent. HE DOES NOT! The only independent guys he knew about were Scott’s students (Devine, Young, etc.) which did turn out to be decent talent.
Plus, one thing that the office and creative agreed on was Gail Kim! And she was a product of Scott’s school I believe as well. There was no denying how valuable an asset Gail is/was to any wrestling company.
In all honesty, Dutch could not work with Scott. If you notice, after Scott left the company and Dutch was able to focus on the Knockouts, that segment produced ratings!! Because Dutch not only booked them and wrote their stuff but, he also agented them!

The drop in Knockouts ratings and interest only shows that Dutch does not have full say anymore! If I know the office, instead of being encouraging to Dutch and getting out of his way and giving him what he needed to make it better, they got intimidated by the success of their own product and just had to get involved!
The proof Dutch called this!! He knew they would “fuck it up” so to speak and even said, “as long as they stay out of my way, I think this is going to work!”

How did he feel about the negotiations with Gail Kim and her going to WWE?

I don’t exactly know because I wasn’t there anymore. I can speculate though. I was there when they negotiated with her last. It pretty much sucked! Gail wasn’t what you would call “happy” with the way it turned out. She is an extremely sharp girl!! She sucked it up, went with the flow, and worked her ass off I’m sure with a WWE return in mind! You see even though Gail was ex-WWE and the office is “gay” for ex-WWE, Gail being a woman didn’t put her on the same plane as Sting, Angle, etc. in TNA’s collective minds.
They just don’t think along the lines of how much more merchandise etc. that Gail Kim would’ve sold for TNA compared to the others I mentioned. STUPID EH?

Again, I can only speculate. Dutch had to fight for the Knock outs division! The office only saw women and womens wrestling as “eye candy”. And like children, once it got built up, “it was their idea all the time”! At this point, I’d say that they are still in a “denial” phase and are having their fun “playing” with the Knockouts division, taking credit in their minds and probably with Spike as well.
As it gets worse and the ratings drop to nothing, they will inevitably blame Dutch for its failure. Crazy eh???
