TNA wrestling: Was Dixie Carter’s “speech” a work?
Opinions on this issue vary. There is good and bad in both schools of thought. However, iMPACT was NOT the place to do this!!! Look at the ratings during her segment. Those numbers prove it was bad business!
She/they are now saying it wasn’t a “work”. Well it was partially a “work” because it was timed and therefore in the script!
If she wanted to establish herself, she should’ve done it with Hogan. And if she is/was in charge and just had to let everyone in and out of her company know that she is “the boss” she should’ve done that segment with Hulk Hogan! Because that didn’t happen and Hulk himself started the questioning of her authority by saying he answer’s only to Bob Carter and Bob Carter hired him direct in an attempt to “fix” TNA proves, DIXIE AINT SHIT!! as soon as Hulk “takes control” Which I’m sure will be after his book tour.
Make sense??
EGO:An exaggerated sense of self-importance; conceit.
SELF CONFIDENCE: Confidence in oneself or one’s own abilities
Building blocks for true success would be the latter.
“It’s being reported that Dixie Carter’s pre-Impact address given to the entire roster of TNA talent was NOT scripted, and in fact was genuinely how the TNA President feels at the moment.
There was speculation that her address was a work, and was written into the show as part of a story line, however it seems that is not the case.
There has been a lot of frustration in the TNA locker room as of late, as we have reported, with stars such as AJ Styles and Daniels voicing their concerns with the creative direction of the company, and it seems as if Carter’s speech to the talent roster this past week on Impact was designed to let the wrestlers know that she is in charge and in control.”

I am a schoolteacher, so I do know a little bit about managing large groups of people. One of the least effective things you can do is to make a big speech about how you’re going to do something. If you want to make a change, DO SOMETHING. If Nash was that out of line, then fire Kevin Nash. Don’t give him a half-assed suspension that your wrestlers (British Invasion) have a script to mock on TV.
Don’t tell people that their opinions are worthless.

Han Solo also lets Chewbacca fly the Millenium Falcon but Han’s the captain.
Dixie is Chewbacca in this metaphor. She’s steering but she aint the one who decides whether or not to go to Endor or Coruscant.
Geeks rule.

Here is the way I see it …
Dixie has in someways admitted the obvious, that TNA is in trouble both creatively and financially, and that she has had enough of the backbiting and negative comments
Its gotten to the point where she needs some true help, she has burned the jarrett bridge already and now with Hulk hogan and Eric Bischoff, she sees this as a last resort to boost up what was a good organization.
Will it work, she spoke to the roster, but never ONCE spoke to the ones that matter most…THE FANS!
She has a problem, and its playing out like it did with the last weeks of WCW..when Eric and Jason tried to buy WCW from Jamie Kellner and TimeWarner and was about $60 mill short.
In poker parlance, Dixie just went all in, and is hoping that the cards that are now being dealt are good enough to win fans. I give her an A for effort, but in reality…we are looking at a gamble that she knows leads to one lone reality..
Its her tight butt on the line, and if she flops..I hope she knows how to table dance, because that may be her next line of work..
I hope i am wrong, I do want to see TNA succeed, but unless some major changes arent made..its done, she just folded and the snake oil salesman up east wins the whole ball of wax.!

Not only is everything on TV something of a work, I believe that a good chunk of wrestling news on the Internet is worked. In politics, they call it “spin.” Spies call it “disinformation.”
Really, all it would take a company is one intern to feed IWC journalists to get smarks buzzing about something to build a guy up/keep his build going.
Maybe CM Punk really mouthed off to the Undertaker. But how did that information get out? Maybe somebody WANTED it to get out, to reinforce Punk’s standing with his core fanbase right before Punk was about to be de-pushed.
Cue X-files theme.
