Bobby Lashley says he will “cross the bridge later” on whether he needs to give up pro wrestling in order to focus exclusively on his MMA career.
Lashley was unable to strike a deal with the Strikeforce promotion to appear on their fight card that will be televised by CBS next month. Lashley says he did not have enough time to prepare for a fight, but Lashley acknowledged that some people, including Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker, may have been concerned with him splitting time between pro wrestling and his MMA training.
“I think we still might have a deal in place. I might be able to do something with them, we’ll cross our fingers,” Lashley told Sherdog. “If Coker comes back and says, ‘Hey you have to stop wrestling,’ then that’s the bridge we’re going to have to cross at that point.”
Lashley insisted his current wrestling obligations to TNA did not cause him not to sign a deal with Strikeforce to appear on the November fight card.
“It wasn’t because of a wrestling obligation, it was because of time constraints. I think we started negotiations a couple of weeks before the time and it just didn’t work out,” Lashley claimed.”

Considering Hogan’s coming to town MMA might be the best place for Lashley at this point.
