TNA: Tid Bits (shit bits) 2/7/10
These are various reports and statements regarding TNA from various sources just over the weekend. Please look for my comments in bold.
The first came from Gareth in the U.K. who replied to one of my blog post’s:

“Firsty I don’t know where both of you are from but us in the UK have been hit hard by the new TNA, Genesis was removed from Bravo with absolutly no notice, even the TNA website still said it was available on the day it was meant to air, instead it was only shown on BT Vision which has less than 500,000 subscribers, and isn’t even available in parts of the country, compared to Sky’s 7.something million.
Now after leading us down a path of “we are in talks” they tell us that we can watch Against All Odds live on tnavideovault.com for $14.99 (apx £9.50)
WCW was once on ITV back in the very early 90’s but once the Monday Night Wars kicked off they were gone…….why? Because Bishoff and Hogan don’t care about the fans abroad, the same is happening again, the only place TNA beats the WWE every single week in the ratings is the UK”
This is about the STUPIDEST thing that TNA has not and obviously is not currently focusing on! Proof? Look at the TNA attendances in the U.K. versus the attendance in the U.S. And they can’t secure a time slot on a decent network there??
Andy Barton is in charge of TNA international interest’s. This alone should prove to “skeptics” that my opinions on he are pretty “dead on balls”.
I mean, what company in almost any industry today doesn’t think globally??

“- Since TNA introduced the “World Title,” the physical belt has been plagued with a series of downfalls and dings. The belt has been damaged to the point that there are three buttons that are in place between the plates that separate the main plates and the side plates. On each side, one of those three buttons have fallen off. At last word, TNA has no plans to replace them.”
Yeah this is true and this is RIDICULOUS!! I swear that most of the TNA belts were hurting and battered. For an “indy” this would be fine but, TNA spends so much on so many stupid things that the belts should be a priority.
Plus, with HD format it’s only a matter of time to where these “jerry rig” fixes show up to the viewer.
Literally fixing the tag belts with silicone caulk was a joke! That’s right the TNA tag belt plates were glued on.
- Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are already growing frustrated with the TNA “regulars,” which has caused much post production editing. This actually resulted in TNA using the seven second delay on the 1/4 live Impact.
I’m sure they are as the “regulars” are probably just as frustrated with Hogan/Bischoff. Thus keeping distance between everyone. If TNA, Hogan/Bischoff, and talent can’t get on the same page and become some form a a team. they are all doomed.
The unfortunate parts in this is all of the great talent and potentially great talent that will lose out on opportunity and the fans that will miss them or never be exposed to them.
Also, Hogan recently stated that “His door is open” and “everyone has a say! Even the cab driver.” How true can it be that “TNA is just a hang out for old wrestling buddies???” And again, you the fan, will feel the effects of this inner frustration.
As much as some folks won’t believe it, I don’t think I’m always right or know everything. But, I would bet my life that the mysterious “TNA pecking order” is what I said in the beginning of the Hogan reign. And that is Hogan is supposed to have “all the juice” as granted by Panda Energy. Hulk is falling into the same trap and dilemma as TNA CFO Dean Broadhead and his predecessor TNA CFO Kevin Day.
They are/were hired to “heel” on Dixie and Barton and teach them the word “no” and try to make sense of the foolishness.
And in true past TNA fashion, when Dixie hears “no” she can still circumvent Hogan and go directly to “dear old dad” and get a “maybe” and then a compromise. Which is really where the Hogan frustration stems from. He and Bischoff cannot take it up with Dixie/Barton so, the talent is caught between.
Bischoff is assuming the “heel” role to the talent so Hogan can be the “babyface” and have the dirty work on Bischoff.
“Hulk Hogan is interviewed talking TNA and bringing back the art form of wrestling. “I’m plugged in full-time,
brother. I’m there all the way across the board. Before I used to wrestle, I mean before I used to lace the yellow boots up, steal the main-event payday and run home, now, I’m in the dressing room with the guys, talking to them about finishes and storylines and stuff like that, but then I’m also partners with Dixie.” He also talks about Jesse
Ventura and cannot understand why Ventura would be mad at him. I can think of a few reasons. Anyway, he says, “I’m dying to find out what made [Jesse] snap, you know, because I was around when we were doing the wrestling. Jesse came to Japan one day, you know, and he worked one or two main events the whole time I was around. And I would love to find out what really makes him tick just for curiosity reasons.”
It’s quite simple and Hogan knows exactly why Jesse has “hard feelings”. In the 80’s wrestlers had a chance to organize and become a union.
The guys behind the idea were Jesse Ventura and Jim Brunzell. They went to Hogan (as he was the top star at the time) and Hogan assured them that he was “one of the boys” and would stand “shoulder to shoulder” with his “brethren”. He did not.
There were many lives that were affected by this back then. But the older Jesse and Hogan get the more apparent and the larger these negative affects are.
The fans are aware of the many horrific story’s in regard to wrestler’s having no benefits etc. But, there many things that I am aware of where I am “sworn to secrecy” from older guys in the industry so they can maintain some sort of “self esteem”.
I imagine Jesse and Hogan are aware of many more. Jesse is the type that will ALWAYS be concerned about these issues. Hogan is out for Hogan and will always look the other way.
Plain and simple, that is what Jesse is pissed.

“Hulk Hogan has been complaining to friends about frustrations from working in TNA because he feels pressure to give pushes to people he doesn’t want to push. Word is that Dixie Carter doesn’t want the TNA originals to be buried but there are wrestlers from the old crew that Hogan sees nothing in and wants to get rid of. Hogan was apparently high on Tomko as he made a remark about how at least Tomko looks like a wrestler“.
Note: the last line in the above paragraph. Hogan doesn’t see any use in wrestlers of smaller stature. Which unfortunately is over half of the wresters in the industry today(unfortunately for them not the fans). I called this! Hogan can’t see the “forest through the tree’s” and understand that the industry changed and with that change comes a higher level of athleticism. Which is something the smaller performers can do. Now I like Tomko but, he wouldn’t las a year trying to keep up with Daniels or Styles if Daniels or Styles set the match pace. He is simply not built for it.
Tomko and your larger stature wrestlers will always have a place in any wrestling company. However, if you don’t have the faster paced, higher risk wrestling in your brand. Your DEAD.

Bischoff said, “Sting’s a great talent. Love him to death. My problem is now that we’re trying to do this big picture. I understand how big picture it is for the wrestling business. Sting had life-and-death personal issues, but from a business side, it totally screws us up. If at any time that happens, I got a personal issue, now we have to switch gears on who we use, you can’t build the world around them. Everybody has got to make a commitment. It’s easy to say we want TNA to be No. 1, but if you’re not willing to put TNA as a priority above almost every situation, then it’s probably not going to work out.”
This is just an asinine statement over all. Look I don;t think that Sting warrants now or ever the kind of money he’s been getting from TNA. This isn’t about that. If there is in fact “life-and-death” personal issues, Steve Borden needs to be there! Not standing on the iMPACT Zone cat walk where the camera’s can’t even get a good shot of him.
TNA try’s to paint WWE as this “Dr. Evil” corporate entity. I know of many WWE talents that were excused from “shot’s” for personal family stuff without question. You tell me who the “evil” entity is??? Yup, “a place where wrestling buddies hang out and bounce ideas off each other and hang out.”

Scott Steiner is apparently no longer working for TNA, as his profile has been removed from TNA’s website.”
This isn’t smart business. Especially since Hogan is so concerned about guy’s that “look like wrestler’s”! Scottie has impressed even the harshest critics with his last few TNA PPV performances and no one needs to be reminded of his physical appearance and “more than decent” mic skills and promo’s.
“TNA will not be making an official statement on Steiner’s status, as the company does not comment publicly on roster changes.
Steiner has not appeared on TV or worked any house show
events this year since Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan took over in January. Steiner was involved in a program with Bobby Lashley at the end of 2009.”

About Borash: “It was nice seeing Jeremy Borash, a longtime friend of mine, from TNA when I was in Nashville. He hung out with me and we never once talked wrestling.”
I don’t know. If Borash was a “friend” why would he have been the one to post the picture of he and Bret on Twitter?
If it weren’t for Borash doing that, no one would have even known they saw each other.
About Hogan & Bischoff: “Some feeble minded idiot who saw us in plain view tried to start the rumor that I might be heading to TNA next; although why anyone would ever think I’d let Hogan and Bischoff anywhere near my Hitman persona again is truly beyond me.”
Again, see my above observation. Could it be that Bret doesn’t know that Borash posted the pic?? You can speculate about Hart’s meaning in the world of wrestling today. I for one believe his presence is a good thing and if he and Vince wrestle at WRESTLEMANIA I think it will be good.
But, Hart knows Hogan/ Bischoff better than most as he worked with them at WCW. He would know about letting them near his character.
